Percepción de una plantación naturalista en un emprendimiento turístico.

Abstract

México es un país que cuenta con una importante variedad de herbáceas silvestres con potencial ornamental. Sin embargo, el desconocimiento y poco interés hacia estas especies, por la sociedad en general, implica el escaso uso de ellas en el diseño del paisaje. Las nuevas tendencias en el diseño de plantaciones son las “plantaciones naturalistas”, caracterizadas por el uso de especies herbáceas silvestres con potencial ornamental. El objetivo de esta investigación fue identificar la percepción social respecto a una plantación naturalista diseñada con diferentes herbáceas silvestres ornamentales en un emprendimiento turístico en Veracruz y determinar la fauna asociada a las diferentes especies incluidas en el diseño de la plantación naturalista. Durante el mes de marzo de 2018 se llevaron a cabo los estudios de percepción, se aplicaron 150 cuestionarios in situ a turistas visitantes para conocer su grado de aceptación con respecto al estilo de una plantación naturalista. Posteriormente se realizó la identificación de la fauna asociada a la plantación, para ello, se registraron las visitas de fauna entomológica mediante documentación fotográfica y anotaciones durante los meses de marzo y abril de 2018, acumulando un total de 36 horas de observación. Con respecto al grado de aceptación social los datos obtenidos se analizaron mediante estadísticas descriptivas, media y ANOVA utilizando el método de Fisher. Los resultados mostraron diferencias estadísticas (P<0.05) de percepción con respecto al grupo estudiado y un alto grado de aceptación social (x ̅=8.30). Para la identificación de la red de fauna asociada, los datos obtenidos se analizaron mediante una matriz de interacción insecto-animal. Los resultados mostraron un alto nivel de interacciones (Conectancia=0.68) entre las especies de la plantación naturalista y la fauna entomológica asociada. Se concluye que el diseño de plantaciones naturalistas además de ser una estrategia de jardines sustentables y de conservación de la biodiversidad, tiene un alto nivel de aceptación social y una alta presencia de fauna entomológica asociada. _______________ PERCEPTION OF A NATURALIST PLANTATION IN A TOURIST ENTREPRENEURSHIP. ABSTRACT: México is a country that has an important variety of wild herbaceous with ornamental potential. However, the lack of knowledge and little interest in these species, by the society in general, implies the scarce use of them in landscape design. The new tendencies in the design of plantations are the "naturalistic plantations", characterized by the use of wild herbaceous species with ornamental potential. The objective of this research was to identify the social perception regarding a naturalistic plantation designed with different ornamental wild herbaceous plants in a tourist enterprise in Veracruz and to determine the fauna associated to the different species included in the design of the naturalist plantation. During the month of March 2018 the perception studies were carried out, 150 questionnaires were applied in situ to visiting tourists to know their degree of acceptance with respect to the style of a naturalist plantation. Subsequently, the identification of the fauna associated with the plantation was made, for this, visits of entomological fauna were recorded through photographic documentation and annotations during the months of March and April of 2018, accumulating a total of 36 hours of observation. With respect to the degree of social acceptance, the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive, mean and ANOVA statistics using Fisher's method. The results showed statistical differences (P <0.05) of perception with respect to the group studied and a high degree of social acceptance (x ̅=8.30). For the identification of the associated fauna network, the data obtained were analyzed through an insect-animal interaction matrix. The results showed a high level of interactions (Connectivity = 0.68) between the species of the naturalist plantation and the associated entomological fauna. It is concluded that the design of naturalist plantations as well as being a biodiversity conservation and sustainable gardens strategy, has a high level of social acceptance and a high presence of associated entomological fauna.
