| dc.description.abstract | Zacatecas es uno de los estados con mayor rezago en su conocimiento florístico y cuenta con limitada información que permita tomar acertadas decisiones de manejo y conservación de su flora y vegetación. Esto es preocupante, pues existe una creciente necesidad de conservar la mayor proporción de superficie posible frente al cambio climático global y el aumento de la presión antrópica sobre los ecosistemas naturales. La Sierra de los Cardos representa una de las principales zonas montañosas del estado, se encuentra en un área de transición entre provincias fisiográficas y por su naturaleza de isla serrana, es sumamente importante en términos biológicos. A través del método por parcelas se muestreó la flora vascular presente en la sierra en su porción centro-sur, que se ubica dentro de los límites políticos del municipio de Susticacán. Se encontraron 342 especies, 213 géneros y 74 familias de plantas vasculares. El 34 % de las especies son endémicas de México y el 5.3 % constituyen nuevos registros estatales. Mediante datos geomáticos, recorridos en campos y bajo un criterio fisonómico-florístico, se identificaron seis comunidades vegetales, que correspondieron a encinares, pinares, chaparrales, nopaleras, pastizales y zacatonales. La posible naturaleza secundaria de algunas de ellas, aunado al evidente disturbio antrópico en el área, sugiere que las comunidades primarias podrían estar en riesgo de desaparecer. La ampliación de la frontera agrícola y pecuaria favorecen el establecimiento de plantas invasoras que también amenazan la flora nativa más vulnerable. Este estudio reafirma la necesidad de llevar a cabo trabajos florísticos y de vegetación a escalas locales y propone a la Sierra de los Cardos como una serranía con gran necesidad de ser conservada y monitoreada. _______________ CONTRIBUTION TO THE FLORISTIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE SIERRA DE LOS CARDOS, SUSTICACAN, ZACATECAS. ABSTRACT: Zacatecas is one of the states with the most lag in its floristic knowledge and has limited information that allows for correct management decisions. This is concerning because there is a growing need to preserve the largest surface of land towards climate change and the increase of human pressure on natural ecosystems. The Sierra de los Cardos represents one of the main mountainous areas of the state, it is in a transition zone between physiographic provinces and because of its nature as a sky island, it is highly important in biologic terms. Through the plotting method, the vascular flora present in the central-southern portion of the sierra was sampled, which is located within the political limits of the municipality of Susticacán. We found 342 species, 213 genres and 74 families. Thirty-four percent of the species are endemic to Mexico and 5.3 % are new records for the state. Using geomatic data, field surveys and adhering to floristic-physiognomic criteria we identified oak forests, pine forests, chaparral, nopaleras, grasslands and zacatonales as plant communities. The possible secondary nature of some of them, coupled with the evident disturbance in the area suggests that the primary communities could be at risk of disappearing. The expansion of the agricultural and livestock frontier favors the establishment of invasive plants that also threaten the most vulnerable flora. This study reaffirms the need to carry out floristic and vegetation work at local scales and proposed the Sierra de los Cardos as a mountain range in great need of being conserved and monitored. | es_MX |
