Agroecosistema patio familiar: rol y empoderamiento de las mujeres rurales en dos comunidades del municipio de Medellín de Bravo , Veracruz.

Abstract

En México, los patios familiares son los espacios contiguos a la vivienda, donde se cultivan especies vegetales y se crían pequeñas especies animales útiles a la familia, estos agroecosistemas, son diversos en su estructura, componentes, dimensiones y funciones. La mujer, es clave en esta unidad de producción, sin embargo, su trabajo no es reconocido por lo que es importante que se visibilice principalmente ante ella misma y se logre empoderar en su ser, a través de su hacer. Por lo que el objetivo que se plantea es: identificar el rol de la mujer en el agroecosistema patio familiar y su relación en el proceso de su empoderamiento, en dos grupos de mujeres municipio del Medellín de Bravo, Veracruz. La metodología utilizada es cualitativa-cuantitativa, con base al proceso de Investigación-Acción-Participativa, se ha modificado el Modelo de Gestión propuesto por Álvarez (2008). Las herramientas metodológicas fueron: recorridos de campo, observación participativa, entrevistas semiestructuradas y talleres participativos. En el patio familiar se observa un total de 52 especies encontradas, distribuidas en: 15 árboles frutales, 13 plantas ornamentales, 9 plantas condimentarías, 9 medicinales, 4 maderables y solo 2 hortalizas. En la crianza de pequeñas especies se reportan, 3 especies animales:41 gallinas, 2 cerdos y 3 borregos. Los resultados psicométricos obtenidos en la Escala de Autoestima de Rossemberg señalan que el promedio de respuesta es de 26.3 que indica una autoestima normal de las mujeres que trabajan en el agroecosistema patio familiar, e impacta positivamente, en el desarrollo humano, empoderamiento e identidad personal de ellas. _______________ FAMILY ORCHARD AGROECOSYSTEM: ROLE AND EMPOWERMENT OF RURAL WOMEN IN TWO COMMUNITIES OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEDELLIN DE BRAVO, VERACRUZ. ABSTRACT: In Mexico, the family orchards are the spaces adjacent to the house, where plant species are cultivated and small animal species useful to the family are raised, these agroecosystems are diverse in their structure, components, dimensions, and functions. The woman is key in this production unit, however, her work is not recognized, so it is important that she be visible mainly to herself and to empower her being, through her doing. Therefore, the objective that arises is to identify the role of women in the family patio agroecosystem and her relationship in the process of their empowerment, in two groups of women in the municipality of Medellín de Bravo, Veracruz. The methodology used is qualitative-quantitative, based on the Participatory-Action-Research process, the Management Model proposed by Álvarez (2008) has been modified. The methodological tools were field trips, participatory observation, semi- structured interviews, and participatory workshops. In family orchards, a total of 52 species found were observed, distributed among 15 fruit trees, 13 ornamental plants, 9 spice plants and 9 medicinal plants, 4 timber trees and only 2 vegetables. In the raising of small species, 3 animal species are reported: 41 chickens, 2 pigs and 3 sheep. The psychometric results obtained in the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale indicate that the average response is 26.3, which indicates a normal self-esteem of women who work in the family orchard agroecosystem, and has a positive impact on human development, empowerment, and personal identity of women.
