| dc.description.abstract | Las cuencas hidrológicas brindan una gama de bienes y servicios a la sociedad, resultantes de la interacción entre sus componentes físicos y biológicos. La integridad de esas relaciones asegura que exista un flujo de energía y materia entre los elementos bióticos, continuidad de los ciclos biogeoquímicos, hábitats para flora y fauna nativa y captación e infiltración de agua, con disponibilidad para los habitantes establecidos en la cuenca de que se trate o aún fuera de ésta. Generalmente los procesos que se viven al interior de las cuencas son ignorados por la mayoría de sus habitantes, quienes modifican la vegetación natural extrayendo ejemplares en forma selectiva o realizando cambios de uso de suelo. La cuenca del Río Chiquito del municipio de Coalcomán, Michoacán, ha sufrido alteraciones desde el establecimiento de la población en su límite sur, por lo que demanda acciones que busquen reestablecer la composición, estructura y función de sus componentes bióticos, generando en consecuencia servicios ecosistémicos de manera ininterrumpida. _______________ THE RÍO CHIQUITO BASIN, MUNICIPALITY OF COALCOMÁN, MICHOACÁN: ITS DEGRADATION AND AN ALTERNATIVE FOR REHABILITATION. ABSTRACT: Hydrological basins provide a range of goods and services to society, resulting from the interaction between their physical and biological components. The integrity of these relationships ensures that there is a flow of energy and matter between the biotic elements, continuity of the biogeochemical cycles, habitats for native flora and fauna, and water gathering and infiltration, with availability for the inhabitants established in the basin or even out of it. In general the processes that take place within the basins are ignored by the majority of its inhabitants, who modify the natural vegetation by extracting specimens selectively or making changes in land use. The Río Chiquito basin of the municipality of Coalcomán, Michoacán, has suffered from alterations since the establishment of the population in its southern limit. Necessary actions are demanded that seek to reestablish the composition, structure and function of its biotic components, thus generating ecosystem services in an uninterrupted way. | es_MX |
