Distribución natural de Pinus patula Schiede ex Schltdl. et Cham. en el municipio de Villa del Carbón Estado de México.

Abstract

El presente trabajo se realizó en el Ejido y Bienes Comunales de San Jerónimo Zacapexco, municipio de Villa del Carbón, en el Estado de México, con el propósito de describir la superficie y las características dasométricas principales de la población de Pinus patula en la región. En la descripción de las características dasométricas de los rodales muestreados se incluyó la altura y el diámetro normal de los árboles y el número de individuos por hectárea, entre otras; con estos datos se obtuvo la frecuencia de aparición de la especie, la densidad de individuos por hectárea, el valor de importancia por especie, y la distribución diamétrica y de alturas por hectárea para la especie de interés, así como la diversidad y riqueza de especies en el estrato arbóreo. De acuerdo con la información obtenida, Pinus patula se distribuye en esta región del Estado de México como una población casi continua en una superficie aproximada de 686 hectáreas, en un intervalo altitudinal de los 2,700 a los 3,300 m, en las coordenadas geográficas 19° 46’ 0” a 19° 36' 30'' latitud Norte, y 99° 28’ 30” a 99° 30’ 00” longitud Oeste. Los datos encontrados tanto en los programas de manejo forestal para los predios del Ejido y Bienes Comunales de San Jerónimo Zacapexco así como en la información tomada en campo en sitios de muestreo indican que la población de Pinus patula es de origen natural, con individuos de todas las categorías diamétricas, y no establecida de manera artificial como se creía hasta hace algunos años. La altitud en la que se desarrolla esta especie en esta región representa una posibilidad potencial para el establecimiento de plantaciones en otros sitios similares dentro y fuera del Estado de México. _______________ NATURAL DISTRIBUTION OF Pinus patula SCHIEDE EX SCHLTDL. ABSTRACT: This work was done in the Ejido and Communal Lands of San Jerónimo Zacapexco, municipality of Villa del Carbon, in the State of Mexico, with the purpose of describing the natural range, area and other major characteristics of Pinus patula population in the region. In the description of dasometric characteristics of the sampled stands, height, diameter at breast height, and number of individuals per hectare were included, among others; with this data, the frequency of occurrence, the density per hectare, the value of this important by species, and the diameter and height distribution per hectare for the species of interest were obtained, as well as the species diversity and richness for the tree stratum. The results showed that Pinus patula is distributed in this region as an almost continuous population in an area of approximately 686 hectares, in an altitudinal range from 2,700 to 3,300 m and geographic coordinates from 19° 46' 00" to 19° 36' 30'' North, and from 99° 28 '30" to 99° 30' 00" West. The data obtained both from the forest management programs for the Ejido San Jerónimo and Communal Lands of Zacapexco and from the field sites sampled indicate that the population of Pinus patula is natural with individuals in all diameter categories, and not planted as believed until a few years ago. The altitude at which this species grows in this region represents a potential opportunity for the establishment of plantations in similar sites both inside and outside the state of Mexico.
