Género y reconfiguración territorial en San Salvador Atenco, Estado de México.

Abstract

La investigación se realizó en los ejidos de Atenco y Nexquipayac pertenecientes al municipio de San Salvador Atenco, Estado de México. El objetivo central fue documentar y describir las transformaciones de ambos ejidos en relación con los nuevos usos ocupacionales y mercado de tierras. El método utilizado fue el etnográfico, que recurre a la observación participante, entrevistas y cuestionarios para la triangulación de datos. Los resultados obtenidos indican que después de un siglo de la dotación agraria, donde la petición de los habitantes fue muy importante, parte de su superficie ejidal ha regresado a manos del gobierno. Debido al creciente mercado de tierras y la falta de relevo generacional en el trabajo agrícola, el cultivo de tierras ha disminuido. Las transformaciones territoriales están afectando de manera desigual a hombres y mujeres, a la par que han detonado expresiones culturales de resignificación del territorio. Lo anterior nos lleva a reflexionar sobre las resistencias, las permanencias y el surgimiento de nuevas identidades en un espacio rural en constante transformación. _______________ GENDER AND TERRITORIAL RECONFIGURATION IN SAN SALVADOR ATENCO, STATE OF MÉXICO. ABSTRACT: The research work was done in the ejido lands of Atenco and Nexquipayac belonging to the San Salvador Atenco municipality in the State of Mexico. The main objective was to document and describe the transformations in both ejidos in relation with the new occupational customs and land market. The method used was ethnographic, wich makes use of participating observation, interviews, and surveys to triangulate data. The obtained results indicate that one century after the agrarian grants, where the petition of the inhabitants was very important, part of the ejido lands have returned to government holdings, Due to the increasing land market and lack of generational renewal in agricultural work, land use for crops has decreased. The territorial transformations are unequally affecting men and women at the same time that expressions of cultural re-significances of territory have arisen. This leads us to reflect upon the resistances, permanence, and rise of new identities in a rural environment under constant transformation.
