Factores que influyen en la competitividad de la jamaica mexicana: el caso de Tecoanapa y Ayutla de los Libres, Guerrero.

Abstract

El cultivo de jamaica es un producto altamente explotable industrialmente debido a sus propiedades medicinales y nutrimentales, además de su buen sabor. Sin embargo en el estado de Guerrero es un cultivo en decadencia, gracias a los problemas que aquejan a los productores, tales como, bajos rendimientos; falta de apoyos y capacitación; entre otros. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar y analizar los principales factores causantes de la problemática del mercado nacional respecto a la baja competitividad que tiene la jamaica de Guerrero en relación a la importada, a partir de una serie de diagnósticos en la región de estudio. El estado de Guerrero es hasta la fecha el principal productor de jamaica a nivel nacional, representado el 63% de la producción total y aportando 90.5 millones de pesos a la economía estatal. Tecoanapa y Ayutla son los municipios que reportan mayor producción en el estado y es generada por pequeñas unidades de producción campesina en su mayoría indígena, mismos que se conectan al mercado nacional a través de acaparadores regionales. En los últimos años, se ha ido perdiendo el interés por el cultivo debido principalmente a la presencia de un hongo que afecta de manera considerable este, ocasionando que baje la calidad del producto y en el peor de los casos la pérdida total del cultivo. Entre otras razones se encuentran; las importaciones, que compiten de manera desigual con el producto nacional, baja rentabilidad y la falta de apoyos específicos a cultivo de jamaica. _______________ FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE MEXICAN HIBISCUS FLOWER: THE CASE OF TECOANAPA AND AYUTLA DE LOS LIBRES, GUERRERO. ABSTRACT: Hibiscus is a plant highly exploitable industrially due to its medicinal and nutritional properties, in addition to its good flavor. However, it is currently a declining crop thanks to the problems that afflict the peasants of the main producing state, such as; Low yields, lack of support and training, etc. The present research had the objective of identifying and analyzing the main factors causing the problems of the domestic market in relation to the low competitiveness of the Guerrero Hibiscus flower in relation to that imported from a series of diagnoses in the study region. The state of Guerrero is to date the largest Jamaican producer nationwide, accounting for 63% of total production and contributing 90.5 million pesos to the state economy. Tecoanapa and Ayutla are the municipalities that report the highest production in the state and are generated by small units of peasant production, mostly indigenous, which are connected to the national market through regional hoarders. In recent years, they have lost interest in the crop due mainly to the presence of a fungus that significantly affects the crop, causing the quality of the product to drop and in the worst case the total loss of the crop . Among other reasons are; Imports, which compete unequally with the national product, low profitability, lack of specific support to the planting of hibiscus flower etc.
