Determinación del comportamiento del productor agrícola con relación a PROCAMPO mediante el modelo Logit: Caso municipio Villaflores, Chiapas

Abstract

Debido que México se encuentra inmerso en una economía mundial que cambia constantemente, es de vital importancia medir los efectos de la política agrícola mediante el uso de los recursos con los que cuenta el erario público. Dentro de este contexto, parte de los recursos que el productor recibe como subsidios son a través de PROCAMPO. De ahí que el objetivo general del presente trabajo de investigación, consistió en determinar sí la producción y el consumo (entre otras variables), tienen una relación de interdependencia de PROCAMPO en el momento en que el productor decide participar o no en el programa; es decir, ¿Estás variables condicionan las decisiones del productor respecto de PROCAMPO? y ¿En qué medida? En este sentido, la metodología a seguir fue por medio de la utilización del modelo Logit; donde los resultados obtenidos a través de esta prueba de variable dependiente cualitativa, mostró que la probabilidad de que un productor del municipio de Villaflores, Chiapas, se incorpore a PROCAMPO, va a aumentar en 55%; sin embargo, la probabilidad de que un productor se incorpore al mismo programa, va a aumentar en 91% cuando este cultive maíz. En definitiva, se concluye que las variables independientes de producción y consumo condicionan las decisiones del productor agrícola respecto de PROCAMPO, en el área de estudio. _______________ DETERMINATION OF BEHAVIOR OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCER WITH RESPECT TO PROCAMPO, THROUGH THE MODEL LOGIT: MUNICIPALITY VILLAFLORES, CHIAPAS. ABSTRACT: Given that Mexico is immersed in a world economy that is constantly changing, it is vital to measure the effects of agricultural policy by using the resources available to the public purse. Within this context, some of the resources that the producer receives is through PROCAMPO. Hence the overall objective of this research work was to determine if the production and consumption (among other variables) have an interdependent relationship PROCAMPO when the producer decides whether to participate in the program; that is to say, ¿Are you determine the producer's decisions regarding PROCAMPO? and ¿what degree? In this regard, the methodology was followed by using Logit model; where the results obtained from this model qualitative dependent variable showed that the probability that a producer of the municipality of Villaflores, Chiapas joins PROCAMPO, will increase by 55%; however, the probability that a producer incorporate the same program, will increase by 91% when grown corn. In short, it is concluded that the independent variables of production and consumption determine decisions regarding PROCAMPO agricultural producer in the study area.
