Ecoviajes-un paquete de software para compartir traslados

Abstract

Tras estudiar la oferta de servicios que permiten el uso compartido de viajes en cualquiera de sus modalidades, se llegó a la conclusión de que cabía un servicio que ofreciera funcionalidades adicionales. En particular se orientaría el servicio a aspectos ecológicos, y no exclusivamente los económicos asociados a los viajes que no tendrán que realizar los que encuentren un aventón. Se creó el paquete de software GRRIDES (Green rides) que permite a cualquier comunidad instalar un sistema de viajes compartidos. Un miembro de la comunidad que necesita trasladarse de un sitio a otro podrá buscar si otro miembro ha ofrecido un viaje que le puede servir. Un miembro – denominado el chofer - indica la ruta, que consiste de una serie de lugares en los cuales pueden subir o descender pasajeros – y la fecha y hora de su viaje. El interesado en aprovechar un viaje formula criterios de búsqueda para ver si hay algún viaje ofrecido que pueda aprovechar, y se anota como pasajero del mismo. Se incluye la posibilidad de encontrar un viaje que pase cerca de donde quiere subir o bajar del vehículo. Se ofrecen mapas para todas las funciones en las que éstos puedan resultar útiles. El paquete incluye elementos de confidencialidad y seguridad, entre los cuales se cuentan que sólo puedan usar el servicio los miembros certificados de la comunidad, la confidencialidad de los datos de contacto de los miembros y aspectos relacionados con la retribución de viajes a los choferes. Se agregan algunas funcionalidades adicionales: un pasajero puede solicitar un viaje; un chofer puede indicar que hará el mismo viaje con cierta periodicidad y puede indicar que llevará equipaje o que acepta que acompañen a un miembro otras personas a pesar de que no sean de la comunidad siempre que viajen en compañía de un miembro, y otros detalles que mejoran o generalizan el servicio. El paquete contempla que la comunidad interesada en usar el software puede usar sólo los elementos que sean necesarios o útiles en esa instancia. _______________ ECOVIAJES – A SOFTWARE PACKAGE TO SHARE TRIPS. Particularly the main objective to replace trips by persons who could find a ride would be ecological, rather than purely economic. The software package GRRIDES (green rides) was created so that any community could install a system of shared trips. A member of the community that needs to go from one place to another can search if there is another member that has offered a trip he could share. A member – referred to as a chauffeur - indicates his route – consisting of a set of places at which he is willing to pick up passengers, as well as the date and time of his trip. Someone interested in sharing a trip will indicate search criteria to find out if somebody else offered a trip he might use, and registers as a passenger of the trip. The possibility of finding a trip that passes nearby to the places from and to which he wishes to go is included. Maps are available as aids to all functions for which they might prove useful. The package includes elements for confidentiality and security, amongst which one may point out that only certified members of the community may use the service, the confidentiality of contact data of the members and all elements related to the retribution of trips made by the chauffeurs. Additional features include: a passenger may register a desired trip; a chauffeur may indicate that he will make the same periodically; he may indicate he is willing to carry luggage or he will accept passengers even if they are not members of the community (as long as they travel with a member) as well as other details that enhance the service. The package allows a community to install only such features as are useful or necessary in the particular instance.
