Análisis comparativo de la producción de Litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn) en la Sierra Norte de Puebla, México

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar los factores del sistema de producción de litchi, bajo dos lógicas: Agricultura Campesina (UPF) y Agricultura Empresarial (Rancho Mayapan) para caracterizarlos y conocer la rentabilidad económica. Los instrumentos de investigación fueron la revisión bibliográfica y la aplicación de cuestionario. Se aplicaron cuestionarios a 30 Unidades de Producción Familiar, de las cuales el 27% posee arboles en etapa de producción y el 73% esperan el primer ensayo de producción de sus huertos; se aplico la misma encuesta al Rancho Mayapan, el cual lleva produciendo más de 25 años. Las UPF cultivan litchi desde el año 2001, y los primeros rendimientos de las plantas se reportaron en el año 2005, para la cosecha 2008, el rendimiento promedio de litchi por árbol fue de 45 kg por árbol, de los cuales el 9% son frutos de desecho; es decir 4.05 kg, esto de acuerdo a las mediciones realizadas en la investigación de campo; por lo tanto, en el área de estudio se obtuvo un rendimiento de 12.15 ton/ha.; de las cuales 11.05 ton/ha son destinadas a la venta y 1.45 ton/ha se desechan. El precio de venta por litchi en las UPF para el año 2008 fue de $10.00/ kg., por lo cual se estima $10, 000.00/ton; por lo tanto los ingresos obtenidos por año son del orden de $110,500.00/ha. El estudio reporto un Valor Actual Neto (VAN) y una relación Beneficio/Costo superior a 1, por lo que el cultivo es rentable, aunado a ello, los altos rendimientos por árbol, el periodo de cosecha y el precio de venta obtenido son las principales variables que tomaron en cuenta las UPF para desplazar por completo el cultivo del café, y de manera gradual el cultivo de naranja y plátano. ______________ COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS LYCHEE'S PRODUCTION (LITCHI CHINENSIS SONN) AT PUEBLA NORTH SAW, MEXICO. The sale price by lychee in the UPF for the year 2008 was of $10.00/ kg., by which is stimated $10, 000.00/ton; therefore the incomes obtained per year are on the order of $110,500.00/ha. The study reports a Net Current Value (VAN) and a relation Benefit/Cost over 1, for which the cultivation is profitable, combined to it, the high yield by tree, the period of crop and the sale price obtained are the main variables that took into account the UPF to displace completely the cultivation of the coffee, and in a gradual way the cultivation of orange and banana.
