Innovación tecnológica y desempeño productivo y económico en el cultivo de jitomate (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) bajo invernadero en el estado de Puebla.

Abstract

Esta tesis comprende el estudio de 103 unidades productoras de jitomate (UPJ) bajo invernadero en 4 municipios del estado de Puebla. El documento se compone por cuatro capítulos, el primero calcula el crecimiento de los invernaderos en la zona de estudio, el segundo caracteriza el nivel tecnológico de las UPJ; el tercero describe la dinámica de innovaciones, obteniendo el índice de adopción de innovaciones (InAI) y los actores relevantes en su difusión, así como la relación entre el InAI y rendimiento en las UPJ; el cuarto capítulo analiza la rentabilidad de las UPJ utilizando el indicador financiero de la relación beneficio costo (B/C). Del año 2006 a 2017 los invernaderos aumentaron en superficie un 150% en la zona de estudio. Las UPJ cuentan con un rendimiento promedio de 152 t ha-1 y una superficie promedio de 3,900m2, su Índice Tecnológico (IT) es principalmente bajo (66%) y medio (25%), influenciado por la superficie cultivada, el nivel escolar y la experiencia en la producción bajo invernadero de los productores; el rendimiento en las UPJ aumenta conforme al IT. El InAI promedio es de 36% y tiene una correlación positiva con el rendimiento, el aprendizaje de innovaciones se realiza principalmente entre productores y la asesoría técnica privada es la responsable de la transferencia de tecnologías. Los indicadores de B/C para las UPJ son valores que van de 1.14 a 2.31, por lo que son rentables, estos aumentan conforme al IT en la UPJ. Es necesario generar una estrategia conjunta entre dependencias del sector gubernamental, centros de investigación y productores, que permitan el acceso de asesoría especializada, capacitación y vinculación que permitan la transferencia de conocimientos y tecnología en el manejo del cultivo, dado que un mayor IT representa un aumento en el rendimiento y se traduce en mayores ganancias, generación de empleo, disminución de migración y un desarrollo económico en las zonas productoras. _______________ TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AND PRODUCTIVE AND ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE IN GREENHOSE TOMATO CULTIVATION (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) IN THE STATE OF PUEBLA. ABSTRACT: This thesis includes the study of 103 greenhouse tomato producing units (TPU) in 4 municipalities of the state of Puebla. This document is composed by four chapters, the first one calculates the growth of greenhouses in the study area, the second one characterizes the technological level of TPU; the third describes the dynamics of innovations, obtaining the adoption of innovations index (InAI) and the relevant actors in its dissemination, as well as the relationship between InAI and yield in the TPU; the fourth chapter analyzes the profitability of TPU using the financial indicator of the cost benefit ratio (B / C). From year 2006 to 2017 greenhouses increased in area by 150% in the study area. The TPU have an average yield of 152 t ha-1 and an average surface area of 3,900 m2, its Technological Index (TI) is mainly low (66%) and medium (25%), influenced by the cultivated area, the school level and the experience in the greenhouse production of the producers; yield in the TPU increases according to the TI. The average InAI is 36% and has a positive correlation with the yield, the innovations learning is carried out mainly between producers and the private technical consultancy is responsible for the transfer of technologies. The indicators of B / C for TPU are values ranging from 1.14 to 2.31, so they are profitable, these indicators increase according to the TI in the greenhouse. It is necessary to generate a joint strategy between government agencies, research centers and producers, that allow access to specialized advice, training and linking that allow the transfer of knowledge and technology in the management of the crop, since a greater TI represents an increase in yield and this translates into greater profits, generation of employment to the local population, decrease in migration and economic development in the producing areas.
