_______________ INOCULATION OF ARBUSCULAR MYCORRHIZA FORMING FUNGI (HFMA) AND PLANT GROWTH PROMOTING BACTERIA (PGPR) IN AVOCADO PLANTS (Persea americana). ABSTRACT: The microorganisms that promote plant growth and that allow the sustainability and profitability of the crops, work as complements to inorganic fertilizations and represent an alternative to the high costs of fertilizers and the increasing deterioration of natural resources. Avocado is one of the crops that demands sustainability for its production. In a first trial, the effects on the concentration of nutrients and growth by inoculation of fungi that form arbuscular mycorrhiza (HFMA), plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), irrigated with Steiner nutrient solution (20%) with different pH (5.8 and 6.2) applied to creole avocado plants, mexican race; were evaluated. In a second trial, inoculation of PGPR, HFMA and phosphoric rock (RF) applied from seed were evaluated. Both trials were established in a greenhouse with substrate (perlite and agricultural foam), disinfected and irrigated with drinking water. The experimental design used (2x2x2 factorial) was evaluated at 181 DAT and 103 DDS (both trials). In the first trial, the inoculation of HFMA and PGPR improved uptake and increased the concentration (%) of N and P in the aerial part of the plant. It showed the same effect on the diameter and total dry weight of the plant. In the root, higher lengths and volumes were obtained compared to the control, 355% and 150%, respectively. Bacterial colonization was high in PGPR treatments, with the presence of fluorescent bacteria within the cortex tissue. In the second trial, the concentration of N, P and K in vegetative tissue increased due to the effect of the inoculation of PGPR and the application of RF. Regarding the height, it was determined by the application of HFMA and RF. In Length and volume, the best response was obtained by PGPR inoculation and less than 10 % mycorrhizal colonization was obtained, which was not enough to stimulate growth of seedlings.

_______________ AGRONOMIC POTENTIAL AND FRUIT QUALITY OF TWO Jaltomata procumbens (CAV.) J. L. GENTRY FORMS, ERECT AND DECUMBENT, FROM THE STATE OF TLAXCALA. ABSTRACT: The Jaltomata procumbens species, with its two populations, erect and decumbent, used as food and semidomesticated, belong to the important biological richness of Mexico, but a lack of information limits their use for agronomical purposes due to the scarce attention given in research programs. The potential of both populations for its agronomical use and fruit quality, in greenhouse and hydroponics, were determined. Germination, agronomical and phenological characters, fruit quality, secondary metabolites and nutrient uptake, were evaluated. The treatments in the first evaluation included: two populations (erect and decumbent), two seed soaking times (4 and 6 days), two concentrations of KNO3 solution (0.1 and 0.2%) and distilled water as control; the next four evaluations included: two populations, three electrical conductivity levels (EC): 1, 2, and 3 dS m-1 and two pruning levels (with and without pruning); the sixth evaluation consisted of: two populations, three EC levels: 1, 2 y 3 dS m-1 with pruning management. Several variables on seed, plant and fruit, were evaluated. The positive effect of KNO3 and 4 days of soaking was observed, reaching 93-100 % of germination. For both populations, the greenhouse and hydroponics conditions promoted development in plant height, stem diameter, size and weight of fruit, total soluble solids and fruit palatability. The erect population was earlier than decumbent, but a variability within and between populations was observed due to EC and pruning. Variability between populations and phenological stages in the nutrient concentration was observed, the erect absorbed more N, P, and Mo, and the decumbent more Ca, B, Fe, and Zn. The EC and pruning management influenced the secondary metabolites in both populations. The erect stood out in syringic acid, rutin and carnosol, and the decumbent in gallic and rosmarinic acids, and morin.

_______________ RESPONSE OF Stevia rebaudiana BERTONI (MORITA II) TO NUTRITIONAL MANAGEMENT IN THE GREENHOUSE. ABSTRACT: The Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni Morita II will be configured in a greenhouse of the Colegio de Postgraduados campus Montecillo, Texcoco, State of Mexico from September to December 2020. The objective was to analyze the response of different concentrations of modified Steiner nutrient solution (SN), in the morphology and dynamics of minerals in the stevia leaf. A strip design was established, with treatments of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of SN, the experimental unit being a pot, with 8 repetitions for each cut. The tezontle-coconut fiber substrate mixture was made in a 1:1 ratio. Destructive sampling was carried out at 60, 75 and 90 days after transplantation (Ddt). The determined morphological variables were; root, stem and leaf dry weight and leaf yield per plant. In leaves, N was determined by the Kjeldahl method. After digestion with HNO3 and H2O2, Ca, Mg, K, Zn, Cu and Fe were quantified by atomic absorption spectrometry and P by colorimetry. The results obtained from both agronomic variables and mineral concentration in the plant were subjected to a correlation analysis and linear regression, all were adjusted to a mathematical model. Being the SN 75% with the best response in number of branches and root volume, while the minerals in dry leaves were very dynamic in each cut, which indicates that water stress affected the absorption of these elements.

_______________ PHYSIOLOGICAL MODIFICATIONS IN NATIVE TREES OF MEXICO INOCULATED WITH EDIBLE ECTOMYCORRHIZAL FUNGI AND MYCORRHIZATION HELPER BACTERIA. ABSTRACT: Ectomycorrhizal fungi (HEM) are associated with plants of the genus Pinus with which they establish ectomycorrhizal symbiosis in their roots, in addition there are specific bacterial groups that interact with this association, potentiating various benefits such as growth improvement, modification of physiological variables such as; photosynthesis and chlorophylls, increased acquisition of water and nutrients. In the present work, the following was studied: i) The effect of the coinoculation of (HEM) Laccaria laccata (L) with mycorrhization helper bacteria Cohnella sp. (C) and two strains of Azospirillum brasilense: nitrogen fixer (FN) and phosphate solubilizer (SF), in the growth, physiological improvement and nutritional content of Pinus montezumae Lamb.; ii) coinoculation with (HEM) Laccaria bicolor and a mycorrhization helper bacterium (C) in Pinus greggii in tolerance to temperature stress, through the improvement of physiological variables such as photosynthesis and chlorophyll content. As a result of the coinoculation of L. laccata with the bacterium (FN), an increase in the dry weight of the aerial part of up to 7.84 times more than that of the uninoculated plants was recorded. The photosynthetic rate of the L+C and L+FN treatments presented increases of up to 3.83 and 6.83 times more, respectively, than the plants without inoculation, the L+FN treatment presenting a synergism in the amount of N present in the aerial part and root. The results obtained for the plants coinoculated with L. bicolor and the bacterium (C) under three different temperatures (low, medium and high) showed an increase in dry weight, when compared with the uninoculated plants present in the different temperature conditions of up to 5.22, 5.0 and 8.84, times more, the photosynthetic rate, recorded increases in plants inoculated exclusively with HEM L. bicolor and in those coinoculated with the bacterium (L+C), under the high temperature condition, compared to those uninoculated plants that were under the three different temperatures, up to 7.75, 6.38 and 5.71 times more, respectively. they have the ability to improve the physiological and nutritional status of P. montezumae plants. The inoculation with L. bicolor and coinoculated with the bacterium (C) in P. greggii plants help the plants to tolerate temperature stress, through the modification of physiological variables such as photosynthesis, and growth variables. It should be noted that this research is one of the first in Mexico that demonstrates the importance of inoculation with edible ectomycorrhizal fungi, which promote tolerance to stress due to temperature increases, aimed at the role that fungi can play in tolerance to global warming.
