Análisis de las relaciones de género en el desarrollo rural y turístico del carnaval de Tepoztlán, Morelos.

Abstract

La investigación analizó la problemática de género en el Carnaval de Tepoztlán, Morelos; el objetivo general fue conocer e identificar las relaciones de género en la participación, beneficios económicos y problemas sociales en el desarrollo rural y turístico del Carnaval de Tepoztlán Morelos. La metodología utilizada se fundamentó en los enfoques teóricos de estudios de género, haciendo referencia al lenguaje incluyente de género como un elemento indispensable para visibilizar a las mujeres y a los hombres con la “a” y la “o” respectivamente y la fenomenología para estudiar la realidad de l@s participantes en el carnaval. Los instrumentos de recolección de información fueron entrevistas a profundidad, historias de vida, registro fotográfico y una guía de observación. La unidad de análisis estuvo integrada por 71 personas entrevistadas, divididas en cinco grupos: autoridades; comparsas; comerciantes; habitantes y turistas. El marco teórico de base estuvo constituido por los conceptos de Perspectiva de género, Turismo, Carnaval y Desarrollo rural. Los resultados mostraron que las mujeres tienen menor participación, sufren mayores problemas y tienen menores beneficios en comparación con los hombres durante el carnaval debido al orden patriarcal que aún permea en la comunidad. Se concluye que hay una participación inequitativa de las mujeres como organizadoras (comparsas y chinelas) comerciantes y turistas debido a una serie de limitantes para tomar decisiones, participar, transitar y poder expresarse libremente durante el evento; de igual forma, ellas ven incrementadas sus labores dos o tres veces más para poder disfrutar y ejercer sus derechos de tiempo libre, ocio y participación, además de enfrentar problemas de inseguridad y violencia sexual. _______________ ANALYSIS OF GENDER RELATIONS IN THE RURAL AND TOURIST DEVELOPMENT OF THE CARNIVAL OF TEPOZTLÁN, MORELOS. ABSTRACT: The investigation analyzed the problematic of gender in the Carnival of Tepoztlán, Morelos; the general objective was to know and identify the gender relations in the participation, economic benefits and social problems in the rural and tourist development of the Carnival of Tepoztlán Morelos. The methodology used was based on the theoretical approaches of gender studies, making reference to the inclusive language of gender as an indispensable element to make visible the women and men with the "a" and the "o" respectively and the phenomenology to study the reality of the participants in the carnival. The instruments for gathering information were in-depth interviews, life stories, photographic records and an observation guide. The analysis unit consisted of 71 people interviewed, divided into five groups: authorities; comparsas; merchants; inhabitants and tourists. The basic theoretical framework was constituted by the concepts of Gender Perspective, Tourism, Carnival and Rural Development. The results showed that women have less participation, suffer greater problems and have lower benefits compared to men during carnival due to the patriarchal order that still permeates the community. It is concluded that there is an inequitable participation of women as organizers (comparsas and chinelas) merchants and tourists due to a series of limitations to make decisions, participate, transit and be able to express themselves freely during the event; In the same way, they increase their work two or three times more in order to enjoy and exercise their rights of free time, leisure and participation, as well as facing problems of insecurity and sexual violence.
