Recursos forestales y género en la Reserva de la Biosfera La Sepultura: estudio de caso

Abstract

La mayor parte de los estudios sobre recursos forestales del bosque no incluyen la perspectiva de género, pese a que el tema es prioritario a nivel nacional, suele ignorarse su incorporación a nivel operativo. Las Reservas de la Biosfera representan el escenario propicio para visibilizar la importancia de la perspectiva del género en el uso y manejo sustentable de los recursos forestales maderables y no maderables. Este trabajo se centra en analizar las relaciones de género que determinan el uso y manejo sustentable de los recursos maderables y no maderables de Corazón del Valle y Niños Héroes, Chis., ubicadas en la Reserva de la Biosfera La Sepultura, para lograrlo se plantearon cuatro objetivos particulares: 1) demostrar la participación diferenciada de mujeres y hombres en el uso y manejo sustentable de los recursos forestales maderables y no maderables; 2) determinar qué temáticas estructuran el acceso y control de las mujeres al bosque y sus recursos forestales; 3) documentar y analizar los conocimientos y usos locales dependientes del género sobre los recursos forestales configurados espacialmente; y, 4) establecer la influencia que las instituciones públicas han ejercido en mujeres y hombres en relación con el uso y manejo comunitario de los recursos forestales con enfoque de sustentabilidad. Se consideraron como eje de análisis la Ecología Política Feminista y la sustentabilidad. Se empleó un enfoque metodológico mixto con la aplicación de encuentras, talleres de investigación participativa y entrevistas a actores clave y, grupales a mujeres y hombres; además, se usaron herramientas de Sistemas de Información Geográfica. Entre los resultados obtenidos se identificaron siete temáticas que en conjunto con la categoría género ordenan espacial y diferencialmente el acceso y control de los recursos forestales maderables y no maderables del bosque y del solar. También, se observó que los esquemas de manejo forestal se modifican por intervención de las instituciones ambientales relacionadas con el manejo ambiental a través de sus programas. _______________ FOREST RESOURCES AND GENDER IN THE BIOSPHERE RESERVE “LA SEPULTURA”: CASE STUDY. ABSTRACT: Most of the studies about forest resources do not include the gender perspective; despite the topic is a priority at national level, it is ignored in the operative level. The Biosphere Reserves represent the most propitious space to make visible the importance of the gender perspective in the sustainable use and manage of the Timber Forest Resources (TFR) and Non Timber Forest Resources (NTFR). The center of this paper is to analyze the gender relations that determined the sustainable use and manage of the TFR and NTFR of the communities “Corazón del Valle” and “Niños Héroes”, which are part of the Biosphere Reserve “La Sepultura”, to get it we approached four specific objectives: 1) to demonstrate the differential participation of women and men in the sustainable use and manage of TFR and NTFR; 2) to know what factors determine the participation of women in the sustainable use and manage of TFR and NTFR; 3) to document and analyze local uses and knowledge of gender in the forest resources configure spatially; 4) to stablish the influence the public institutions have practiced on women and men in the community use and manage of timber resources from sustainability perspective. It was considered as a basis of the analysis the Feminist Political Ecology and the sustainability. It was also used a mixed methodology approach with the application of surveys, research participatory workshops and interviews to groups, men and women, and key informants; tools of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were also used. Some of the results obtained are the identification of seven topics that overall with the gender perspective order spatial-differentiated access and control to TFR and NTFR into forest and the solar. And it was also observed that the forest manage is modified by the intervention of environmental institutions through its programs.
